Early birthday gathering!

Hello my loves! How are we all?
The basis of this blog is dedicated to food and beauty and so far I've been focusing too much on beauty and haven't done any food review yet! So this post shall be on fooooooooood! Hmmmmmm♥

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today I had an early birthday celebration with my pharmily! Eventhough not all could make it due to work and other reasons, but luckily there were some who came♥

We lunched at Brotzeit  in the railway lane at 140.
Note:140 is located on the corner of William and Murray Street Mall, Perth.
For those who have never heard of this restaurant, it is a hotspot of the German cuisine! It is "one of the world’s leading franchised German concept casual dining restaurant" and this is the first branch restaurant open in Australia, Perth being the first! WOOHOO! *like finally for once that Perth gets to open a restaurant first of its nation haha!* And apparently, Brotzeit is coming to Joondalup and Baldivis!

Today's experience: The service was good (they have different waiters for different sections of the restaurant - pretty interesting!) and the servings were hearty. We ordered the Brotzeitplatte (AUD$88 - designed to serve 4 to 5 people – it served six of us very well). As you can see, this was served on a wooden plank/chopped board (whatever you called it haha!).

So in the platter, you can choose: either ribs or weiner schnitzel, we chose ribs; and 2 side dishes - we chose sauerkraut (sour cabbage) and roast potatoes.

The Brotzeitplatte consists of:
(a) honey Bavarian pork ribs - needless to say, they were YUM.
(b) pork knuckle - it was monstrous and glorious! Though, in my opinion, the gravy (served in a jug on the side) was quite watery. But the crunch of that golden cracklings were just fantastic! And there's quite a substantial amount of meat wrapped around the bone.
(c) varieties of sausages: grilled pork, spicy chicken, smoked pork, pork cheese and pork veal - the sausages have that satisfying snap when you bite into them.

Literally, as my friends agreed too, Brotzeit is simply a place of meat, meat, meat and more meat! Meat lovers heaven! So if you are meat lovers, make sure you pop down there to try some! :)

Brotzeit details:

After this hearty lunch, we made our way down to Northbridge to have San Churros - the perfect place to have chocolates in this cold and windy weather! Though luckily it wasn't raining or else it would have kill the mood to walk to there :)
We ordered two chocolate fondue and shared among ourselves as we were still full from the hearty lunch!

And this is it for today's post!
Love to hear any comment!
Please do comment below if you like this kind of review post or should I just stick with beauty reviews haha XDD

Have a lovely night y'all!

Love,
Velene xoxo

  1. I like this kind of review! Will be nice to see more of your food reviews (eventhough I'm from Singapore!) There's also Brotzeit here in sg! Very reasonable prices too! You must try mango beer (if you like beer) :DD Slow roasted beef was really nice too! You got to try the dessert platter too! It has apple strudel, pancakes with icecream and chocolate warm cake and can serve 2 - 3. These can be your next try-to lists! And yes you and your friends were right! This place is definitely the best place to go and to get the most out of it, if you actually are a meat eater!
